In Germany about 50 species of the mosquito family Culicidae have been described, which belong to the genera:
Aedes (4)
Coquillettidia (1)
Culex (7)
Culiseta (7)
Ochlerotatus (22)
Uranotaenia (1)
Some of them (e.g., Aedes japonicus, Aedes albopictus, Anopheles daciae, Culiseta longiareolata) have been recently introduced.
