Verralina is a genus of culicoid mosquitoes. V. funerea is a brackish water species, which is common in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the northeastern coastal regions of Australia. It was tested positive as potential vector of important arboviruses (Barmah Forest virus, Ross River virus). V. lineata was found among abundant mosquito species in inner forests of tropical Australia. Related Verralina species were also found in mangrove forests in India breeding in rainwater-filled cups used for collecting rubber latex.
