Recurrent Airway Obstruction (RAO)

This asthma-like type of hypersensitivity occurs in horses that are intensively exposed to hay and stable dust. Affected horses show an increased risk for insect bite hypersensitivity, but only a sevenfold decreased risk of shedding strongylid nematode eggs.
