In Uganda the fight against onchocerciasis is battling on two fields: (1) vector control and (2) mass treatment of infected humans.

This program relies heavily upon serosurveillance of children and thus until Dec 2013, 39,000 persons from 11 foci had been controlled using the Ov16ELISA test. The results showed that the test system is a very useful operational tool.
