Ascarops

Genus of the worldwide occurring nematode family Spirocercidae. The species (e.g., Ascarops strongylina) lives in the stomach of their hosts and sucks their blood, leading to weight loss, anemia, and bloody diarrhea. The larvae 3 are found inside beetles and cockroaches which are taken up with the food.
