Definition

A small peptide sequence (4–6 amino acids) that binds to  PDZ domains, which are peptide-binding modules, and is usually embedded in large scaffolding proteins along with additional PDZ domains and/or peptide-binding modules. PDZ domains function to assemble their ligands into large complexes with other scaffold-associated molecules.
