Approach response;  Preparatory behavior

These are responses evoked when an organism is exposed to stimuli previously associated with a reinforcer, such as the application of a natural goal object or a self-administered drug. The responses are ones that bring the organism into contact with the actual reinforcer. They serve a searching or preparatory function.
