Definition
A tripeptide Arg-Gly-Asp; Arganine-Glysine-Aspartic Acid is a recognition motif found in the amino acid sequence of many integrin-binding proteins. The RGD motif facilitates binding of many Integrins, including α3β1, α4β1, α5β1, α8β1, α9β1, αvβ1, αIIbβ3, αvβ3, αvβ5, αvβ6, and α4β7.
