Named in honor of Macgregor S. Reid, a highly regarded manager at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. For the past ten years he has been technical executice assistant to the director, responsible for planning and identifying issues of significance to the national space program and the laboratory’s future. Reid is internationally recognized for his activities concerning international standard-setting. This object is being named to honor him on his retirement after a 30-year career at JPL.
