Definition
A score derived from administration of selected subtests from the third and fourth edition Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC). The Perceptual Organization Index (POI) provides a measure of nonverbal fluid reasoning, visual-motor integration, and visual-spatial problem-solving.

Wechsler Intelligence Scales (WIS)
The WAIS and WISC are two of the most widely used tests to assess general intellectual ability in adults aged 16 years or higher (WAIS) and children aged 6–16 years (WISC). Since the original development of these scales (WAIS 1955; WISC 1949), both tests have been revised on several occasions. The most recent revisions were published in 2014 (WISC-V) and 2008 (WAIS-IV).
