Definition
A backpack carried on the fire line by wildland firefighters.
A fireline pack is a backpack carried on the fire line by wildland firefighters. The standard issue pack for wildland firefighters in the United States is shown in Fig. 1. The pack is used to carry drinking water, food, small tools, personal items, and personal protective equipment (PPE items) such as the fire shelter.
