Abstract

The concepts, design, and manufacture of surface and projected capacitive touch screens are reviewed, with emphasis on sensor design and construction. Projected capacitive touchscreen controllers are introduced but substantially covered in a separate article. The development of in-cell and on-cell solutions is also discussed.
