Introduction
The notion of psy-complex arises within the academic world concomitantly with an increased concern for the display of power in everyday life, especially when critical questions for the ever-increasing ways of understanding human beings in psychological terms emerged in social spaces, such as factories, schools, prisons, and hospitals (Castel, Castel, & Lovell, 1982). In contrast to the conventional and legitimizing analyses proposed by the hegemonic histories of the psy-sciences and also in contrast to those analyses suggesting that the psy-sciences tried to dominate everyday life because they responded to the need for maintaining the social order required by the State, researchers of the psy-complex proposed that it was possible to analyze the group of sciences that had the prefix ‘psy’ (psychology, psychoanalysis, psycho-pedagogy, psychiatry, etc.) in a integrative manner without necessarily separating them according to schools or epistemological perspectives.
