The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) was founded in 1967 as a non-profit corporation to enhance and assist the study and practice of nephrology, to provide a forum for the promulgation of research and to meet the professional and continuing education needs of its members.

Carl W Gottschalk Research Scholar Grant

Purpose: To provide funding for young faculty to foster evolution to an independent research career and a successful application a National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 grant or equivalent.

Eligibility: Applicants must an active member of the ASN and hold an MD or PhD or equivalent degree. At the time of submission the applicant’s membership must be current and their dues paid. Appointment to full-time faculty must be conformed in writing by the department chair.
