Radial bearings refer to bearings that support primarily radial loads. Typical examples of radial bearings are deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, and needle bearings.
Scientific Fundamentals
According to the type of load a rolling element bearing is designed to support, rolling element bearings are classified into radial bearings, angular contact bearings, and thrust bearings. Radial bearings are primarily used for supporting radial loads, although under some circumstances they are capable of carrying limited thrust loads. Radial bearings include deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, and needle bearings.
