Definition
The Framingham risk model is a method used extensively for detecting patients at risk for coronary heart disease. This score includes traditional vascular risk factors (total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure and smoking habits) and has been validated in several populations. The use of this scoring allows to estimate the 10-year risk for myocardial infarction and coronary death.
