Isotactic polypropylene

n. Polypropylene in which each mer unit has the pendant –CH3 group on the same side of the chain backbone. Commercial PPs are about 90% isotactic, conferring high crystallinity and softening range. In contrast, atactic PP is rubbery and weak.
