An undesirable pulsation or temporary variation in the intensity of a display image on a display surface usually caused by voltage or current variations or by low regeneration rates in those types of display images that must be regenerated to prevent loss of intensity by electric charge leakage or radiation reduction. Note: In an aligned-bundle image transmission system, flicker is not introduced into the transmitted image because there is no scanning of the object. An image of the object is focused on a fiber optic faceplate, transmitted in full color in the aligned bundle, and displayed on another fiber optic faceplate on the far end of the aligned bundle.
