This is a form of mass customization. In pure customization, a product is developed from scratch for each customer. Pure customization infiltrates the entire operating chain. The product is designed for the original customer, assembled and fabricated to order and delivered in a personalized way. Pure customization is an expensive proposition, but there is a surprising amount of activity that fits this category. Many construction projects can be considered to be pure customization, such as, an architect designed house, or a company headquarters' building.
