A named collection of rules that represent reasoning knowledge about some problem area. A rule set is used by an inference engine to solve specific problems in that area. In addition to rules, a rule set may also contain an initialization sequence, a completion sequence, and variable descriptions. Artificial intelligence; Inference engine.
