The feasible (usually basic) solution used to initiate the Phase 2 procedure of the simplex method. The solution satisfies both Axv = bv and xv ⩽ 0. The first feasible solution is often a product of the Phase I procedure of the simplex method, while in other instances, it is user-supplied or generated by previous solutions of the problem.  Phase I procedure;  Phase II procedure;  Simplex method.
