A relation between two nonnegative vectors in which, whenever a given component of one of the vectors is positive, the corresponding component of the other vector must be zero. For example, two nonnegative n-dimensional vectors X and Y satisfy a complementarity condition if their ith components are such that xiyi = 0, i = 1, ..., n.
