For a mathematical model, especially a computer-based one, verification is the process by which the computational procedure (computer software) is checked to determine if it is error free (debugged) and the determination that the model, as represented by the calculations or software, does what the analyst intended. A model is said to be verified if it (the computation) correctly executes the intended calculations. Validation; Verification, validation and testing of models .
