The amount of time a project work time can be delayed without affecting the duration of the project. Total float can be used in only one activity in a path. If no schedule times are specified for starting and finishing the various activities, then the float is calculated as the difference between the latest start time and the earliest start time, or the difference between the latest finish time and the earliest finish time.
