The World Heritage Convention is the simplified name of the ‘Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage’. To enable all heritage around the world to be appropriately identified, protected, conserved and presented, the World Heritage Convention was approved in 1972 by the General Assembly of UNESCO. The Convention is composed of eight chapters with 38 articles. It prescribes the establishment of the World Heritage Committee and the World Heritage Fund. Both the Committee and the Fund began operations in 1976. The Convention integrates the protection of cultural heritage, natural resources and the environment for the first time. It successfully provides a systematic and complete work mechanism for the effective protection of heritage and the environment around the world with the collective monitoring of the international community, collaborative assistance from international funds and a shared cooperation platform for international protection...
