The National Geopark Planning and Technical Requirements were promulgated by the Ministry of Land and Resources in 2010. In addition to the Technical Requirements, there are two annexes: (1) outline of National Geopark Planning and (2) outline of National Geopark Planning Study. The Technical Requirements provide planning principles, key points, results, planning submission, approval and release. They clearly stipulate that plans shall be formulated by the municipal and county governments in the region of the national park and shall be promulgated and implemented by the local municipal and county governments after being examined and approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources as the basis for the establishment and management of the national geopark.
