This is a landscape consisting of a hot water pool that is smaller than a hot lake but larger than a hot spring channel. Its surface is round or oval with a depth of 1 m to several metres and an aerial surface of tens to dozens of square metres. It is called a boiling pool when the water temperature reaches the boiling point. Some hot pools do not leak water, and due to evaporation, the mineral salts in the hot water gradually precipitate from the pool edge towards the centre, causing the pool to shrink and eventually forming a hot pool with a wide centre but a small mouth.
