Zusammenfassung

Die Störung mit Trennungsangst (STA) ist mit einem mittleren Erkrankungsbeginn um das 7. Lebensjahr und einer Häufigkeit von ca. 4–7 % eine der frühesten und häufigsten psychischen Störungen im Kindesalter. Zudem persistiert sie unbehandelt oft bis ins Erwachsenenalter bzw. stellt einen Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung weiterer psychischer Störungen dar. Mögliche Risikofaktoren sind elterliche Psychopathologie, Temperaments- und Bindungsfaktoren und negative Lebensereignisse, jedoch fehlen methodisch gut fundierte und für die STA spezifische Ansätze zur Beschreibung der Ätiologie und Pathogenese. Die Wirksamkeit von störungsspezifischen Psychotherapiestudien für die STA bei Kindern im Vor- und Grundschulalter ist durch moderate bis hohe Effekte gut belegt.
