Abstract

In peptide chemistry, HPLC has gained importance as an analytical tool because of its exquisite sensitivity, speed, and resolving power (1,2). This chapter outlines the use of HPLC for purity control and content determination of synthesized or isolated peptides. Besides different HPLC methods, like ion-exchange chromatography and size-exclusion chromatography, the reversed-phase method predominates and has become the method of choice for peptide separations.
