Abstract

Dystonia is a chronic neurological disorder that hinders the quality of life of affected individuals and causes serious disability. It is often an underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed condition due to the lack of clinical criteria and insufficient amount of research studies on the field. With the main goal of exploring methodological aspects of clinical trials in Dystonia, a review of the literature was conducted through the database engine “Web of Science,” searching for the 100 most cited trials in Dystonia, published between 2005 and 2015. This chapter discusses the findings of this review and provides recommendations for augmenting future research studies in the field.
