Abstract
The surgical management of intracranial aneurysms has evolved rapidly over the past few decades, and despite the increasingly common use of alternative endovascular treatment options, it still plays a critical role in treatment. This chapter briefly reviews the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of the disease but largely focuses on indications for treatment as well as key preoperative and intraoperative considerations. Such a systematic approach is designed to provide a guide for meticulous surgical planning and execution and ensure the highest quality outcomes.
