Chromatography is a physical method available for separation of closely related compound in a mixture. The separation is attained by alterations in the equilibrium distribution of the components between two immiscible phases, i.e., the stationary and the mobile phases. The stationary phase is normally equipped by means of silica, through which the sample mixture permeates under the impact of the mobile phase. There are numeral interactions between the sample and stationary phase, and these have been well exploited to effect the separation of compounds.
