Supportive Care in Cancer - MAASC/ISOO Mucositis Guidelines 2019 Update: Part 1

Mucositis is a common toxicity following chemotherapy and radiotherapy for cancer, often necessitating dose reductions and/or treatment breaks.

The following series of papers were generated as part of the process of updating the 2014 MASCC/ISOO clinical practice guidelines for the management of mucositis secondary to cancer therapy. Several types of interventions for oral mucositis are presented, including anti-inflammatory agents, photobiomodulation, vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements, and protocols categorized as basic oral care. One paper is dedicated to interventions for the management of gastrointestinal mucositis, i.e., affecting areas in the gastrointestinal tract outside the oral cavity.

Each paper has been made free to access where not already Open Access.
