Smart Construction and Sustainable Cities - Call for Editors and Editorial Board members

Smart Construction and Sustainable Cities (SCSC) provides an interdisciplinary forum for the application of information science and advanced digital technologies to the construction and management of sustainable cities. The journal encourages knowledge heterogeneity and showcases research involving and blending the various fields that together can scale up innovative scientific advances.

Job description: To solicit the submission of cutting-edge contributions to SCSC, handle the peer-review process, promote the journal through academic networks and social media, and participate in discussions relating to journal strategic development.

Application: Next-generation scientists with strong academic background who share the vision of SCSC are welcome. SCSC is particularly seeking Editors and Editorial board members focusing on the journal scopes (excluding the Civil Engineering field):

Smart technologies and integrated systems

  • Internet of Things (IoT) in architectures; 
  • IoT network technologies with 5Gn in the construction and maintenance of infrastructures;

Solution for mitigating environmental impact

  • Smart waste material and water management;
  • Self-adaptability and resilience of the cities;
  • Green materials & green cities; 
  • Sustainable development in cities; Sustainable lifestyles and societies;
  • Social sustainability;
  • Decarbonised society and low-carbon cities;
  • Waste recycling in cities; Smart and sustainable pollution control;
  • Intelligent disaster prevention.

Sensing, monitoring, detection

  • GIS, GNSS, GPS, BIM, VR, AR, MR application and investigation;
  • High-temperature monitoring and mitigation in cities;
  • City sustainability problems induced by climate change and their solutions;
  • 3D printing both for construction and manufacturing; Intelligent manufacturing;
  • Smart and sustainable land use, water, and energy resources management;
  • Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing and other Intelligent sensor technologies;
  • Laser point cloud scanning technology.

Candidates will be selected through panel checking.

Appointment duration: 3 years (renewable under mutual agreement)
