Translational Stroke Research - Call for Papers - Collateral Flow: Prolonging the Ischemic Penumbra
The journal Translational Stroke Research (this opens in a new tab) (Impact Factor 6.829) announces a forthcoming Special Issue on “Collateral Flow: Prolonging the Ischemic Penumbra” for which original research papers are invited.
Guest Editors: Jin-Moo Lee1, Rajat Dhar1, Wengui Yu2, Midori Yenari3
1 Washington University in St. Louis; 2 University of California Irvine; 3 University of California San Francisco
The aim of this special issue is to highlight the emerging science behind how the collateral circulation and dynamics of collateral flow maintain and modify the evolving but ephemeral ischemic penumbra in the setting of acute ischemic stroke, as well as other related disease states.
Scope: we are calling for original submissions covering all aspects of collateral flow biology, diagnostics, and therapeutics, including topics covering:
- Anatomy and vascular biology of the brain’s collateral circulation
- Measurement of collateral flow and the ischemic penumbra
- Impact of collateral flow on evolution of the penumbra and penumbral salvage after stroke
- Infarct growth trajectories influenced by phenotypes of collateral flow
- Impact of collateral flow on outcomes after thrombectomy
- Therapeutic manipulation of collaterals for stroke treatment
Submission Deadline: 1 February, 2022
Articles should be submitted via the journal’s Editorial Manager System (this opens in a new tab), indicating at the relevant submission question that your manuscript should be considered as part of the special issue 'Collateral Flow: Prolonging the Ischemic Penumbra'.
Submission proposals can be forwarded for feedback, in advance, to the editors by emailing to: dharr@wustl.edu (this opens in a new tab)
