Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing - Call for Papers: AI4US Special Issue
Description
UltraSound (US) imaging is a critical tool in medical diagnostics, offering a non-invasive method to visualize internal organs, tissues, and blood flow in real-time. However, the interpretation and understanding of US images can be challenging due to factors such as speckle noise, shadowing, and the dependence on operator skill. This Call for Papers seeks contributions that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address
these main challenges, together with review articles that explore cutting-edge AI-based algorithms, techniques, and applications in this dynamic field.
We welcome manuscripts dealing with AI for US image processing and analysis with relevant topics that include, but are not limited to:
- Development and validation of AI algorithms for enhancing ultrasound image quality
- Deep learning approaches for segmentation, classification, and detection of pathological conditions in ultrasound images
- Advanced AI techniques for 3D/4D ultrasound image reconstruction and analysis
- Integration of AI with ultrasound for real-time imaging and diagnostics
- AI-based methods for automated measurements and quantification in ultrasound images
- Ethical considerations, privacy, and security issues in the application of AI in ultrasound imaging
- Generative models for ultrasound image synthesis
- On-the-edge AI for algorithm deployment in ultrasound devices
