Aims and scope

Izvestiya, Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing original scientific research and review articles on significant topics within the field of Earth's atmospheric and hydrospheric physics, as well as climate theory. The journal presents the results of recent studies of physical processes in the atmosphere and ocean that control climate, weather, and their changes. These studies have possible practical applications. The journal also gives room to the discussion of results obtained in theoretical and experimental studies in various fields of oceanic and atmospheric physics, such as the dynamics of gas and water media, the interaction of the atmosphere with the ocean and land surfaces, turbulence theory, heat balance and radiation processes, remote sensing and optics of both media, natural and man-induced climate changes, and the state of the atmosphere and ocean. The journal publishes papers on research techniques used in both media, and current scientific information on domestic and foreign events in the physics of the atmosphere and ocean. The journal welcomes manuscripts from all countries. Izvestiya, Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics publishes English translations of selected articles from several source journals and original unsolicited articles in the English language. The source of each article is described at the article level on the title pages. The final decision about the publication in Izvestiya, Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics is made by its editorial board regardless of the source. The editorial and peer review policies are the same for all translated and original articles. As part of its aim to become an international publication, the journal welcomes submissions in English from all countries.
