Studies on Common Policy Challenges

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

The Asia Europe Journal is a quarterly journal dedicated to publishing quality academic papers and policy discussions on both region-specific and common challenges facing Asia and Europe. The journal aims to emphasize research that focuses on issues of importance to policymaking in both regions, including but not limited to climate change, demographic transition, unemployment, and inequality. The goal is to help accentuate investigations into critical challenges experienced in these regions, their possible remedies, as well as the common futures of Asia and Europe in terms of risks and opportunities. This interdisciplinary journal welcomes academically and intellectually rigorous research papers as well as topical policy briefs and thought pieces on issues of national, regional, and, especially, bi-regional interest, such as green financing and sustainable management, the  phenomenon of unemployment coexisting with labour abundance and scarcity, technology and the knowledge economy, social and economic innovation, political economy and security studies, regional and global governance, as well as relevant socio-cultural and historical events that shape the development processes of the region or any sub-region.

The Authors are advised to consider the following points while assessing the suitability of their research for possible publication in the journal:

  • Relevance of the topic and research area, pertaining to one country/region or preferably to both regions - Asia and Europe
  • Reference to bi-regional implications, regional comparisons, or issues of bi-regional significance are explicitly welcomed.
  • Issues of critical importance to any nation which may have lessons for other nations of the region are of interest as well.
  • Contributions should be written in a manner that is accessible also to non-specialists and an interdisciplinary audience. This is required of papers that contain quantitative analyses as well.

The Journal  welcomes proposals from Guest Editors for special issues or special sections.
