Typisch für die Fremdkörperaspiration beim Kind ist der plötzliche Symptombeginn mit heftigem Husten, manchmal auch Stridor und Dyspnoe, Zyanose und Erstickungsangst. Da es sich um einen Notfall handelt, müssen die betroffenen Kinder unverzüglich einer Klinik mit entsprechender Therapiemöglichkeit zugewiesen werden.
