Résumé

Ce référentiel de structures et d’organisation a été réalisé en prenant pour bases les recommandations nationales, européennes et nord-américaines et l’analyse de la littérature médicale des 20 dernières années. Les domaines suivants ont été étudiés: architecture générale et structuration physique de l’unité; architecture des zones de soins et des chambres des patients; organisation logistique, management et indicateurs; organisation de l’unité pour l’enseignement et la recherche; gestion et organisation des ressources humaines médicales et paramédicales; droits des patients et principes de bientraitance. Ce référentiel propose 300 recommandations concernant l’organisation fonctionnelle, matérielle et humaine d’une unité de réanimation (UR) autorisée selon les critères des schémas régionaux d’organisation des soins (SROS), située au sein d’un établissement de santé (ES) public ou privé. Il en détermine les caractéristiques optimales. Il ne traite pas de l’organisation et des structures des unités de soins intensifs ni des unités de surveillance continue (USC).

Abstract

This document provides recommendations and guidelines to improve the structural and human organization of intensive care units (ICU). A working group from the French Fédération de la réanimation identified architectural, structural, and organizational requirements for ICUs after analysis of the French, European and American guidelines and reports. Legal issues were considered according to national decrees and French regional organizational schemes. Intermediate care and specialized intensive care unit organization was not considered. Three hundred operational guidelines and recommendations are given for the following fields: architecture of the unit and patient room; logistics; equipment; communications systems; organization and management of medical and paramedical human resources; activity criteria; teaching and research; patient rights and improvement of patients and family well-being.
