Abstract

A Si–ZrO2–Mn3+PO4 triple layer high contrast grating in SOI waveguide is proposed and implemented as a RGB color filter. By the 2D-FDTD analysis of proposed grating structure high reflectivity characteristics are obtained for multiple wavelength points over visible and near infrared regions. Parameters optimized in our work are filling factor, period and width of each layer. Reflectivity spectra for both TE and TM modes have peaks with 94% reflectance for multiple wavelengths. Modified proposed structure gives simulation results with flat bands which will filter out different colors at different wavelength ranges.
