Abstract

Combating poverty in Vught. The role of the knowledge broker in linking policy, practice and research in public health The Academic Collaborative Centre for Public Health Brabant started in 2010 with the project ‘the knowledge broker’. Policy or practice based questions are answered bij three (part-time) knowledge brokers by short-term research, six months at most. The focus is on local issues from the municipalities with regard to public health and public mental health services. This article describes the way of working of a knowledge broker based on an actual question of the city of Vught on combating poverty. It illustrates how collaboration between policy, practice and research can contribute to more evidencebased local public health.
