Abstract
Proximal tibiofibular joint dislocation is a rare injury, which may be easily missed. The injury is most frequently seen during sport and as a result of traffic accidents. Early recognition and treatment are important to prevent ongoing morbidity. Although there is uncertainty for the best management of this injury, a closed reduction should always be attempted in the acute situation. If closed reposition turns out unsuccessful, open reduction and stabilization will have to take place. We report a case of anterolateral tibiofibular dislocation in a 18-year old patient.
