Samenvatting
Vallen komt frequent voor en heeft zowel lichamelijk als psychisch gevolgen. De huisarts is van slechts 20-30% van alle valincidenten op de hoogte. De belangrijkste valrisicofactoren zijn: een doorgemaakte val in het afgelopen jaar en de aanwezigheid van een mobiliteitsstoornis. Door goede kennis van de valrisicofactoren en een systematische aanpak van de diagnostiek is het mogelijk om een multifactorieel behandelplan op te stellen. De anamnese bestaat uit een valspecifieke en valgerelateerde anamnese, de diagnostiek bestaat uit een uitvoerig mobiliteitsonderzoek gecombineerd met een algemeen lichamelijk onderzoek. Het behandelplan wordt bij voorkeur door een multidisciplinair team gefaseerd uitgevoerd.
