Warum lohnt sich Leitlinienarbeit – Motivation zur Mitarbeit

Zusammenfassung

Leitlinien stellen eine wichtige Grundlage für die Patientenversorgung dar. Sie müssen zum einen evidenzbasiert, zum anderen klinisch relevant und anwendbar sein, sodass die Beteiligung von klinisch tätigen Experten unabdingbar ist. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden Aufwand und Nutzen einer aktiven Leitlinienarbeit am Beispiel der S3-Leitlinie Kolorektales Karzinom erläutert. Dabei wird aufgezeigt, welchen Einfluss Empfehlungen in Leitlinien u. a. auf die gesetzliche Krebsfrüherkennung und Zertifizierungsverfahren haben können.

Abstract

Guidelines play an important role in patient care. On the one hand, guidelines must be evidence-based, and on the other, they should be clinically relevant and practical. Therefore, it is essential that clinical experts actively participate in guideline development. The current article describes the resource expenditure and benefits of actively participating in guideline development using the example of the German S3 guideline “colorectal cancer”. The effects which guideline recommendations can have on mandatory screening programs and certification processes are discussed.
