Zusammenfassung

Die Onkologie ist eine der wesentlichen Säulen des Fachs Mund-, Kiefer-, Gesichtschirurgie. Wie kaum ein anderer Bereich steht sie im Fokus zunehmender Interdisziplinarität und wachsender Zentrenbildung. Bei diesen politisch gewollten Entwicklungen spielen Leitlinien eine Schlüsselrolle. Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist es, Hintergründe zur onkologischen Leitlinienlandschaft zu beleuchten, Konsequenzen für die Erstellung von onkologischen Leitlinien abzuleiten und Implikationen für die Praxis aufzuzeigen. Die Leitlinienarbeit im Bereich der Onkologie ist von eminenter Bedeutung für die zukünftige Behandlung unserer Tumorpatienten.

Abstract

Treatment of oncology patients is a major pillar of oral and craniomaxillofacial surgery. Oral and craniomaxillofacial oncology is engraved by increasing needs for interdisciplinary cooperation and the growth of cancer centers. The development of clinical guidelines plays a key role in these politically driven trends. It is the aim of this article to elucidate the scenery of clinical oncology guidelines, to deduce consequences for the compilation of oncology guidelines and to show the implications for daily routine practice. The progress in developing oncology guidelines has a major impact for the management of cancer therapy in oral and craniomaxillofacial surgery.
