Tubo-ovarian abscess (TOA), a serious manifestation of pelvic inflammatory disease, has been treated with aggressive surgical therapy. With improvements in antibiotic therapy, laparoscopic surgery and interventional radiological techniques have lessend the need for radical surgical treatment in stable patients.
