Efficiency of ambulant cardiological rehabilitation

Abstract

The unchanged progression of heart disease like CAD with its extensive social and economic effects in our society require rethinking. Prevention and rehabilitation must be considered stronger to make adequate treatment of complex risk factors possible. The usual 3-week stationary rehabilitation in Germany results in excellent shortterm, but no lasting long-term change in the risk factor profile. Ambulatory strategies can balance this disadvantage.
