Abstract

Leiomyoma of the prostate is a rare mesenchymal tumor arising from smooth muscle cells and though benign, an increase in the familiarity of this pathology may lead to less invasive treatment in the future. We report imaging characteristics, operative technique, and surgical pathologic findings of the first case of a leiomyoma of the prostate treated by robot-assisted transperitoneal laparoscopic approach.
