Abstract
Dual plating in complex proximal humeral fractures is an opportunity to increase primary stability. In general, double plating is performed with an angularly stable lateral plate in addition to an anterior third-tubular plate. In this case report we present a valgus-distracted 4‑part proximal humeral fracture with a large fragment of the lesser tuberosity treated with a lateral and an anterior PHILOS® plate osteosynthesis. The multidirectional angularly stable osteosynthesis might provide higher fixation strength.
